WPUMC and Family Promise

A match made in heaven!

The number of persons and families who lack adequate housing continues to rise to epidemic proportions.  Family Promise is a large non-profit organization that is strategically shaped to help families out of the cycle of being unhoused. 

In 2023, Family Promise purchased the Wyoming Park United Methodist Church Building and created 12 transitional apartments.  In the time families reside in these apartments programs and counseling help prepare adults for stable work to support permanent dwelling spaces.

What is Family Promise?

The Mission of Family Promise of West Michigan is to end homelessness, one family at a time. We engage diverse and inclusive community and faith-based organizations to provide emergency shelter and basic needs to families with children who experience homelessness. By connecting families to prevention emergency services, housing, and family support services, we’re helping them move out of homelessness and into stable housing for good.
